Character
Name: Tsai Tsulong
His birth name is Mi Fei-Hong, and those who know him before he changed his name call him either Fei or Fei-Hong. Both instances are Eastern order, family name first then given name. A sardiquet of his is "The Virtue of Love".

Age: 21

World Background:
Tsulong hails from a world known as Mimameidr, on the continent of Asgard and in the Empire of Valhalla. Mimameidr is a planet inhabited by humanity in the far-off future and covered by something called the Portulaca Effect - an aura surrounds the planet that enables its inhabitants to perform superhuman feats. For those in Valhalla, this manifests itself as Spirit Guardians, supernatural manifestations of one's spirit that can usually only be seen by others who also have Spirit Guardians, called Vankarists. Valhalla is ruled by the Ahuras who worship a deity called Yl-Hymn, and the Ahuras manages all the Vankarists. Vankarists are divided into Classes named after the seven hierarchies of angels, hence why Tsulong's epithet is The Virtue of Love, a member of the Three Virtues.

Those with Spirit Guardians have an Innate Color - especially rare are the Innates of white and black, with white being auspicious while black is a harbinger. After using deceit to pass as a White Innate for some time, Tsulong goes off to find a man named Dallas Tyrone Wendell who is a true White Innate to see if he is indeed a threat. He is assigned by his superior Praetor Kumasaki to become Dallas' "Guardian Angel".

Character Background:
Tsulong was born as Mi Fei-Hong in the tiny bay hamlet of Ba-Jiu on the southern edge of the country of Valhalla. He was the third child of Mi Khan-Xing and his wife Li Zhu-Que. His elder sister Mi Zhen-Rong lived in Alfheim while his elder brother Mi Zhe-Shun lived in Vanaheim, both neighboring countries to Valhalla, making Fei-Hong the only one who remains somewhat local. His siblings are also both married and have children.

While Ba-Jiu wasn't historically very involved with the Manifest Destiny, in which the Ahuras made it their mission to spread their power over all of Valhalla, that all changed when his maternal grandfather (Li Xie-Zhi) became what is known as a Grigori, that is someone who becomes attuned (or possessed) by a program (Valkyrie) orbiting the planet to carry out its will. With his involvement, Ba-Jiu entered the Manifest Destiny and was well-recognized among the Ahuras. Given that Fei-Hong is directly descended from a Grigori makes him a Nephilim, that is a being who has the blood of the Valkyries running through their veins. It is because of their family's involvement that Ba-Jiu was able to hold onto its unique culture as opposed to the rest of the territory which has become assimilated into the foreign territory.

Because of the prestige associated with being part of the Vankarists, Fei-Hong went to Seisalas (the capital of Valhalla and the center for the Ahuras) when he was young to train. Unfortunately, when the ritual came to evoke his Spirit Guardian after being baptized, he saw that his Spirit Guardian had Black Wings - an inauspicious sign of ill fate. Shocked, Fei-Hong screamed that his Spirit Guardian should never come out again, and the Spirit Guardian complied. Because of this, Fei-Hong was stigmatized as he had no Spirit Guardian amongst the Vankarists.

While he was fair enough at the starter rank of Angel without access to his Spirit Guardian, when it came to his proficiency exam for the rank of Principality in Merkabah, the arena of Tronos, all Hell broke loose. The proctor for the exam, Erich von Manstein, was getting ready to kill Fei-Hong to ensure that a Black Innate would never ascend the ranks. In a fit of desperation, Fei-Hong blacked out only to awake in a pool of blood. His memory drawing a blank, he was further stigmatized.

Due to his reputation, when he was back in Seisalas he was assaulted once more. Tired, Fei-Hong faced his assailants head on and managed to call forth his Spirit Guardian. After the murders, Praetor Kumasaki helped him change his records - it was from then on that he was known as the Virtue of Love, parading around as a White Innate. As most of the people who witnessed him beforehand have been killed, coupled with Praetor Kumasaki's masterful manipulations, he was able to avoid most suspicion. Unknown to Fei-Hong, Praetor Kumasaki was the one who orchestrated the events leading up to his "awakening".

It was rumored that only one White Innate could manifest every generation, so when Fei-Hong heard rumors that a White Innate would awaken in Anceres, he changed his name to Tsai Tsulong in order to investigate to see if Dallas' prescence was a threat to his existence.

Upon finding the target, however, Tsulong was unable to verify if he was indeed the one with White Wings. The subject name was Dallas who was unaware of anything to do with the Vankarists and seemingly couldn’t even manifest a Spirit Guardian. Under the front of finding and gathering the Emulators, Tsulong spent time around Dallas and submerged him into the life of a Vankarist to ascertain whether or not he was a threat to his agenda. During this time he also meets a woman named Erith Lunatique, another Black Innate who he can identify with.

After traveling the land together to locate the Emulators, Tsulong and Dallas part ways at Tronos after Tsulong gets message that his paternal grandmother back in Ba-Jiu was not long for the world. After revisiting Ba-Jiu and dealing with another assassination attempt at the hands of the Seven Cardinals, Tsulong makes his decision to return to Seisalas and face Praetor Kumasaki, who he begins to realize used Tsulong to further his own agenda. Finally facing him, Tsulong finds out that the Seventh Cardinal was in fact Erith Lunatique, a doll made of clay and ash that was used to create a weakness in Tsulong so Kumasaki could break him. Making his way up the tower of Pleroma, Tsulong came across his childhood friend Xan Mu-Sheng who he fought in the finals of the tournament in Tronos, who is revealed to be the soldier who would replace Erith as the Cardinal En-Bi. After engaging him in battle, Tsulong leaves him alive as he reaches the top, where the monstrosity that Kumasaki attempted to awake – Opiomorphus – materialized, ready to destroy the Empire of Valhalla as payback for destroying the Kumasaki’s family legacy in its quest for Manifest Destiny. At this time, Dallas also began showing signs of the stigmata; when the final wound appeared, inflicted by Opiomorphus by utilizing the spear Longinus, Opiomorphus’ true awakening would occur, in which he would feast on the energy created by the Portulaca Effect, leaving all Vankarists without the ability to materialize their Spirit Guardians.

Dallas, also being in Seisalas, met Tsulong on the spire of Pleroma and attempted to fight against Opiomorphus, in his wounded condition. Just as Opiomorphus was about to inflict the final wound on Dallas, the one with White Wings, Tsulong pushed him out of the way and was injured instead. After a final exchange of words, Tsulong let go of Dallas after giving him his Emulator and fell from the top of Pleroma to his death, as Dallas watched on in horror.

As Opiomorphus created a shell around itself to gain power, Dallas and the others found the real use for the Emulators – they were the key to a secret room in Merkabah, the building to the arena in Tronos. Unlocking the room, they discovered that Merkabah was actually a space ship; mankind was not indigenous to the planet of Mimameidr, but traveled space from their home seeking a new homeland. From here, using the Portulaca Effect that permeated the atmosphere, they saw the Planet’s memory and saw Tsulong’s past, as well as the way to defeat Opiomorphus, the Planet’s defense system against its extraterrestrial invaders.

Character Appearance:
Tsulong stands at 5'8" with a solid build. He has tanned skin and his natural hair color is black, but the top of his head is dyed red with bleached tips. His hair is fairly short and parted on his left. His eyes are dark brown but can glow red when he's focusing his energy, and are slanted in a downturned manner. He has two small silver hoop piercings on his left ear.

He usually wears a white outfit with the trim being made of triangles alternating between white and red so that the white triangles don't touch the white fabric of his outfit. The outfit is made for easy movement and is light since he runs hot, and the sleeves are usually cut halfway to almost being a sleeveless shirt. He has a small tattoo on his left shoulder blade with the Chinese character for "evil".

Character Personality:
As half of the pair of main protagonists, there can be a lot to say about Tsulong and a good chunk of it is how he relates to the other protagonist, Dallas Tyrone Wendell. A lot can be simply stated as them being complete opposites and a lot of the story moves along because they’re constantly in conflict, whether it’s because of their way their personalities naturally are, their prejudices and preconceptions regarding themselves and each other, or because it’s just funnier when they don’t agree on particular things. In any case, there are quite a few sides to Tsulong and how he interacts with the world around him.

First and foremost, Tsulong comes off as controlled and guarded, usually taking a moment to think before reacting to anything thrown at him. He’s done regrettable things in the past due to lashing out instead of thinking before acting, so there will be times when he will overcompensate and freeze up – when it comes down to it, though, it’s a part of himself he doesn’t particularly like, as he believes that it’s better to act with no regrets than it is to be paralyzed and do nothing. It’s a work in progress. In any case, Tsulong values that people make their own choices, even if he doesn’t agree with them, as long as said people also respect his choices in turn. He’s not particularly sociable but life and choices are something he does value and treasure.

One might mistake his silence for an air of mystery, and while it’s not completely inaccurate, Tsulong isn’t necessarily one to hide information if asked up front in most cases unless he’s teasing. In the event that he’s teasing, he’ll respond with “don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to”, or something along those lines. He’s generally open if people have the guts to ask him something in a non-threatening, non-accusatory way, but if he doesn’t feel like answering honestly then he’ll either respond with sarcasm or not at all.

The way Tsulong interacts with others can be basically summed up in that he doesn’t waste his time on those who don’t matter. Throughout the story, he’s seen killing bandits without a second thought as he knows they wouldn’t be open to discussing a hostage release. He’s also seen cutting people off who were trying to tell him sob stories to get to the point because he’s not going to sit there and listen to them when he has absolutely no interest in their personal lives. During one of the first times he met Erith, he outright states that she should go to someone else after she was assaulted because he wasn’t good at dealing with such topics. Yes, it’s partially that Tsulong doesn’t care, but at the same time he knows what he can and cannot stand for, and often chooses to cut losses and say what’s on his mind.

Although he may be straightforward when it comes down to it, Tsulong also exhibits a layer of sarcasm that can turn most people away. Usually it’s not the type of sarcasm that is aimed at people personally in particular, though that hasn’t stopped people from taking it that way.

Items/Equipment:
Mare Crisium - An oversized scythe that Tsulong wields, forged from Rhine Gold by the hands of the legendary auspex Malkith Shiraki.

Fighting Style:
Tsulong's battle style is all about brute force, and on the battlefield he is a feral beast. Tsulong can take blows and dish them out. His major weakness is that he cannot protect anybody else on the battlefield, and if you get in the way of his blows he can't stop. He is also terrible at combination attacks as he is a lone wolf, and typically doesn't work well with others. He's basically a one-trick pony, but he does that particular trick (offense) very well. He also can cast gazel arts (synonymous with "magic") of the Black attribute, which translates loosely to being of the Void element.

Guan Dao/Scythe Arts
Tsulong's initial weapon, the Yan Yue Dao, is a "safety mechanism" which he forces himself to use in order to curb his usage of the Black Talon martial arts. It's also a lot less brutal against his opponents.

The Mare Crisium, his scythe, is a scythe forged from Rhine Gold by the hand of Malkith Shiraki. The main difference is that because of the Rhine Gold, Tsulong can still utilize his Qi in his attacks in the same manner as the Black Talon, but the adverse effects are lessened because of it. When attacking with the blade, his attacks are of the slash attribute, while he has a few strike-attribute skills utilizing the handle of his weapon and fists.

Black Talon Arts
A martial art utilizing one's Qi to disrupt the energy flow in your opponent's body. It has the nasty side effect of disrupting your own Qi, unfortunately, shortening your lifespan. These are mostly physical attacks with an added effect of afflicting the opponent with status ailments, and are mostly used as a last resort for Tsulong if he is unarmed. They are mostly of the strike attribute.

Gazel Arts
With Auriel's assistance, Tsulong's attacks have the Shadow property. A former Principality, he also has some access to purely offensive gazels.

The image behind Tsulong casting his gazels is him writing out Chinese characters in the air, their appearance as if written with a sumi-e brush. After writing them in the air, he will slash at them with his scythe in order to activate them.

Vocalization Arts
In the world of Mimameidr, the power of song has several uses as songs could very well be considered compressed spell commands that interact with the Portulaca Effect, which have different consequences. The power of a song can also be amplified by a working (glyph) which can react to a song the same way a bell on a trumpet amplifies the sound.

While there may be a few offense-oriented vocalization arts, many of them are actually used for celebratory, recreational, or restorative purposes in addition to a select few which are used for security measures to seal away areas.

Tsulong makes it a point to go out of his way to avoid having to resort to song magic. He can use them, but rarely does.

Special Abilities:
Other than fighting, Tsulong has the ability to sing, which in his world is a form of compressed program commands that help give orders to the Portulaca Effect and bend reality. He's also a fair enough cook and can make simple dishes.

Supernatural Abilities:
The most notable of Tsulong's supernatural abilities is the manifestation of his spirit, a Spirit Guardian who is named Auriel. The denizens of the planet Mimameidr are made up of a body, mind, and soul, and the soul starts off dead. By becoming a Vankarist, one can resurrect their soul and it can materialize as a Spirit Guardian. If one awakens the true potential of their Spirit Guardian, it is then known as a Paraclete.

Utilizing a Spirit Guardian is only one of many ways that people can fight against the shibito or their upgraded form, the Halja.
